RM Sotheby’s ModaMiami to feature Sacrilege Motors BlackBird

LAKEVILLE, CT (February 21, 2024) — Sacrilege Motors, a bespoke performance, restoration, and electric-conversion studio, is proud to be invited by the founder of ModaMiami to participate in their invitation-only automotive luxury lifestyle event. Hosted on the beautiful private golf club that sits on the hallowed grounds of the Biltmore Estate, ModaMiami is the NEW hottest ticket on the collector and enthusiast car calendar.

Sacrilege Motors co-founders Phil Wagenheim and 30+ year Porsche tuning veteran Bobby Singh have been on a whirlwind since they debuted their first vehicle on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours. For its first commission, Sacrilege Motors has restored, performance-tuned and EV-converted a 1992 Porsche 911 America Roadster, a U.S. version of the Carrera 2 Cabriolet Turbo-look, and one of 250 built. Named “Blackbird” by its owner in honor of the supersonic SR-71 Blackbird aircraft, this concours-level reimagined classic Porsche will make its Florida debut on the beautifully manicured lawn at ModaMiami, March 2-3, 2024.

“When we committed to undertaking a concours event, we knew we wanted it to be different,” said ModaMiami founder Rob Myers. “The team understood that standing out and generating buzz meant trying new things, and we’ve accomplished that. ModaMiami promises to be a car show unlike any other for many reasons, including the level of hospitality, the lifestyle events, and most importantly, the companies and people we’ve partnered with. Sacrilege Motors shares a similar philosophy to how we’re running Moda; they’re doing things differently. The fact that they want to unveil their newest creation at Moda tells me we’re attracting the right kind of people. We can’t wait to see the Sacrilege Motors Blackbird unveiled on the show field.”

Sacrilege Motors CEO Phil Wagenheim (a graduate of the University of Miami) is excited for the weekend. “ModaMiami is the newest collector car event and yet it has quickly become a must-attend. The quality of the cars on display and the overall presentation should rival the best concours in the country. We’re seriously excited to showcase our first build to this very discerning audience. As a longtime Porsche owner, the goal from the start was to preserve the unique experience of a Porsche.”

“Thanks to Bobby’s expertise, Sacrilege Motors is delivering an analog, air-cooled-era Porsche with the reliability and instant power of an EV, while preserving the exhilarating driving experience, handling, and steering feel so familiar to enthusiasts. The response we’ve received from the folks who have had a chance to drive the Blackbird has been phenomenal!”

“Our passion for Porsche cars is paramount to this project,” said Bobby Singh, Sacrilege Motors’ president and technical lead. “Retaining the classic analog handling characteristics, with added performance and upgraded components, all while reducing its environmental impact, was our ultimate goal. Maintaining the original weight distribution in our production cars was crucial to delivering the driving familiarity Porschephiles expect. Through our countless hours of engineering, and our outstanding partners at Fellten and Penske Racing, we think we’ve nailed it. With the response we’ve received from around the world, it’s clear we’re resonating with others, too. We can’t wait to see how the ModaMiami attendees respond to our efforts.”

About Sacrilege Motors

Sacrilege Motors was founded in 2020 by finance entrepreneur and corporate CEO Phil Wagenheim and Porsche expert driver and tuner Bobby Singh, who brings three decades of experience restoring, building and tuning elite Porsches, including the 959, Carrera GT, 918 Spyder, and Porsche Cup cars. Wagenheim and Singh, who are both passionate owners and drivers of air-cooled Porsche 911s, caught the Porsche bug early, enchanted by the analog feel and precise handling of those cars. Their mission is to create the most captivating EV-conversion Porsche 911s available. Some might call such conversion work heresy, but others welcome the act of retaining the classic Porsche 911’s uniquely enjoyable driving dynamics, while reducing its need for maintenance and environmental impact. Sacrilege Motors delivers a Porsche 911 with all of the instant power of an EV, and the familiarity of the Porsche 911 driving experience. Sacrilege Motors restores 1974-1994 Porsche 911s to concours-level quality, focusing on Porsche driving dynamics, breathtaking performance, exquisite interior design, and the most reliable conversion to all-electric power.
